Ensuring Security of All Citizens is Government's Goal: Food Minister

Food Minister Afroza Khanam Rita has stated that the government is working diligently to safeguard religious freedom and ensure the safety of every citizen. She made these remarks as the chief guest while visiting the Durga Puja mandap at the Ganga Malakar residence in Baniajuri Union, Ghior Upazila, Manikganj on Tuesday night, exchanging festive greetings with the local Hindu community.

The minister emphasized that the administration's primary goal is building a discrimination-free and prosperous Bangladesh by uniting people across all faiths and backgrounds. She noted that Bangladesh has historically stood as a strong model of communal harmony, where followers of every religion exercise their rights and celebrate their heritage with complete freedom.

Highlighting that Durga Puja has evolved into a universal celebration embracing people from all walks of life, she warned that law enforcement remains vigilant against any malicious attempts to disrupt peace. She urged devotees to celebrate in a joyful and fearless environment, assuring them that the state stands steadfastly beside every community.

During the visit, the minister directly interacted with devotees, including local women and children. The gathering was attended by prominent business leaders, local government representatives, socio-political figures, and a large number of local residents.
