International Chefs Day was celebrated in Dhaka, focusing on culinary creativity, modern gastronomy, and the cultivation of healthy eating habits. Organized by the Chefs Federation of Bangladesh (CFB) at a hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday, the vibrant event brought together over 600 professional chefs and hospitality workers from across the country to celebrate their profession and advocate for nutrition.
The event was graced by the Ambassador of Morocco to Bangladesh, Lalla Boutheina El Kerdoudi El Koulali, as the chief guest, with sponsorship from Meghna Group of Industries' Fresh Instant Full Cream Milk Powder. The gathering served as a premier collaborative platform where culinary artists shared innovative techniques, exchanged best practices, and networked to uplift standard culinary practices across Bangladesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador El Kerdoudi emphasized that chefs play a crucial role in shaping a society's wellness through balanced and wholesome dishes. Chef Jahir Khan, President of the Chefs Federation of Bangladesh, echoed this sentiment, noting that culinary professionals craft daily food habits and public tastes, making the selection of nutritious and safe ingredients essential in modern kitchen management.
With dining habits evolving rapidly worldwide, industry insiders believe such large-scale gatherings will help Bangladeshi culinary professionals align with global culinary standards. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting healthy cooking, modern kitchen sanitation, and advanced professional training to elevate the country's growing hospitality and food industry.
“As dining out and processed food consumption rise across urban Bangladesh, mobilizing chefs around nutrition and food safety is a timely and positive intervention for public health.”
