Public Administration Adviser Md. Ismail Zabiullah stated that past partisan considerations are being abandoned to prioritize merit and competence in civil service recruitments, transfers, and promotions. He made these remarks on Wednesday while visiting several Durga Puja pavilions across Lakshmipur Sadar, Kamalnagar, and Ramgati upazilas. Extending festive greetings to the Hindu community, he emphasized the administration's resolve to uphold communal harmony and build a merit-based governance structure.
The adviser underlined that no civil servant will face discrimination or be deprived of deserved positions on religious grounds, nor will anyone receive undue favoritism based on religion. He noted that support initiatives for religious workers across all faiths—including mosques, temples, pagodas, and churches—are being expanded, aiming for nationwide coverage within the next four years.
In addition to visiting puja pavilions, the adviser attended a civic gathering in Kamalnagar. Addressing the audience, he observed that differences of opinion and constructive criticism reflect the beauty of democracy, yet unity remains paramount regarding national sovereignty and core national interests. Later, he inspected the proposed site for a Tk 75-crore Technical Training Center (TTC) project in Char Sita Mouza under Ramgati upazila.
Ismail Zabiullah stated that the upcoming TTC will play a key role in equipping local youth with technical skills for domestic and global employment. Distributing medical equipment at the Hazirhat Union Health and Family Welfare Center in Kamalnagar, he also highlighted ongoing plans to boost public healthcare allocations, ensuring remote villagers receive proper primary medical treatment without needing to travel to urban hospitals.
“Affirming meritocracy over political or communal patronage in civil administration signals a positive step toward structural reform. If these commitments translate into unbiased field-level appointments and institutional transparency, they will substantially restore public confidence in governance.”
