A 60-year-old man named Yasin was killed after being struck by a speeding private car while crossing the road in the Kuril Bishwa Road area under Khilkhet police station in the capital. The tragic accident occurred around 6:30 pm on Friday. Another pedestrian, Md. Imran (26), sustained serious injuries in the same incident. Local passersby quickly rushed to rescue the victims and arranged transportation to the hospital.

Eyewitness Mohammad Lizon said that Yasin was attempting to cross the street when a reckless private car violently hit him, throwing him onto the tarmac. The victims were rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 9:00 pm, where the attending physician pronounced Yasin dead. Before passing away, the victim could only utter his name, leaving his full address and occupation unknown.

Md. Habibur Rahman, Inspector of the DMCH Police Camp, confirmed the death and stated that the body has been kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy. He added that the injured young man, Imran, is undergoing treatment at the emergency ward. Imran, a resident of Moghbazar, shared that he had gone to visit the 300 Feet expressway on Friday evening when the accident happened.

Pedestrians frequently fall victim to traffic accidents around the busy Kuril Bishwa Road and adjacent corridors due to high-speed vehicular movement. Locals report that crossing these wide thoroughfares remains perilous due to inadequate crossing facilities and insufficient traffic enforcement. Police stated that efforts are underway to identify the vehicle and driver, and legal proceedings are currently in progress.
