Iran has issued a stern warning stating that no United States warships will be allowed to re-enter the Persian Gulf under any circumstances. Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Abdollahi asserted that Tehran's forces have neutralized the tactical effectiveness of the US Navy in the regional waters, according to a report by Middle East Eye citing Iran's Press TV.
Major General Abdollahi stated that the US leadership and former President Donald Trump previously relied on their naval presence as a primary instrument of intimidation across the globe and the Middle East. However, he claimed that Iranian military resolve and capabilities have rendered those foreign maritime forces virtually ineffective in regional maneuvers.
The Iranian general further emphasized that the US military no longer possesses the operational capacity to approach Iranian territorial waters or dominate the Persian Gulf. He remarked that Washington's ambition to regain unhindered naval dominance in the waterway remains an impossible aspiration that will never materialize.
Tensions between Washington and Tehran have historically centered around the Persian Gulf, a vital maritime corridor for global oil shipments. Analysts believe this latest sharp rhetoric signals Iran's continued aggressive deterrence posture, potentially heightening geopolitical frictions across the Middle East.
“Iran's blunt declaration is part of an ongoing strategy to challenge US naval dominance in the Persian Gulf. By asserting local maritime control over critical energy transit routes, Tehran aims to maintain strong deterrence, though it risks elevating regional military friction.”
