BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has accused Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar of deliberately attempting to embarrass the interim government through falsehoods and propaganda. Speaking during a public dengue awareness leaflet distribution event in Dhaka's Fakirapool area on Saturday, Rizvi condemned irresponsible remarks aimed at disturbing administrative focus.
Rizvi further alleged that an under-the-table political understanding exists between Jamaat-e-Islami and the ousted Awami League. He claimed that the BNP possesses credible documentation regarding these alleged links and has already placed relevant facts in the public eye, warning that any conspiracy to incite unrest across the country would be rejected by the public.
Defending the administrative trajectory, the BNP leader highlighted key socio-economic indicators, noting that Bangladesh ranks higher than neighboring India and Pakistan on the Global Hunger Index. He affirmed that despite ongoing attempts at disruption, the government remains committed to citizen welfare and policy stability.
The awareness initiative was attended by senior BNP figures, including Joint Secretary General Advocate Abdus Salam Azad and Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sopu, along with front-line leaders from Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Swechhasebak Dal, all urging local community engagement to combat dengue spread alongside maintaining political calm.
“The escalating war of words between the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami under the interim government points to an intense underlying rivalry for political supremacy in the post-Awami League landscape.”
