HSC Candidate Tragically Killed in Chattogram Road Accident on Way to Exam Center

A tragic road accident in the Patenga area of Chattogram claimed the life of an HSC candidate on her way to the examination center. On Saturday morning, 18-year-old Nafisa Nawal was killed when a towing truck struck the app-based ride-sharing motorcycle she was riding near the Navy Hospital gate. Nafisa, a promising student of CMP School and College, was heading to sit for her Information and Communication Technology exam. This sudden loss has shattered her family's dreams and raised fresh concerns over the safety of students commuting during public examinations. The heart-wrenching grief of her father, Mamun Mia, outside the Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue left onlookers deeply moved.

Nafisa Nawal was the only daughter of her family, originally hailing from Barguna district but residing in the Kathgar area of the port city. Alongside her academic pursuits, she was highly active in co-curricular activities, serving as the leader of the college's 'Agrani House'. According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the speeding truck threw Nafisa off the motorcycle, causing severe head injuries upon hitting the asphalt. Although an apprentice doctor rushed her to the hospital immediately, attending physicians declared her dead upon arrival. This incident underscores the ongoing hazard of reckless heavy vehicle movement in metropolitan areas and the lack of safe transit options for examinees.

Upon receiving the news, the Vice Principal of CMP School and College, Bobby Barua, along with other teachers, rushed to the hospital to comfort the bereaved family. The college administration expressed profound grief over Nafisa's untimely demise, and a somber atmosphere enveloped the campus. Local police authorities stated that they have initiated an operation to identify the killer truck and bring the driver to justice. Meanwhile, citizens and students have raised questions on social media regarding the safety standards of app-based ride-sharing services and the training of their riders.
