Case filed against two youths for brandishing weapons in park

Police have filed a case against two youths who were detained for brandishing sharp weapons and threatening visitors at an amusement park in Dhaka. The action was taken swiftly after a video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting public concern.

According to police sources, the two youths were roaming inside the park on Tuesday afternoon with sharp knives and local weapons. This created panic among the visitors, including children. Some local residents immediately informed the police, who rushed to the spot and caught them red-handed.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the local police station stated that two large knives were recovered from the detained youths. A case under the Arms Act has been registered against them, and they have been sent to court. He added that police vigilance will be increased to ensure safety in public parks.

Local residents have welcomed the prompt action taken by the police. They expressed concern that such incidents in public parks compromise the safety of general citizens. They demanded strict punishment for the culprits to deter others from committing similar offenses in the future.
