A special cholera vaccination campaign has started across the country to prevent the spread of the disease. Led by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) with support from partner organizations, the drive focuses on providing vaccines to people in high-risk areas.
Medical experts highlight that contaminated water and poor sanitation cause many cholera cases each year. The oral cholera vaccine is highly effective in preventing this illness. Healthcare workers are administering the vaccine at designated centers and through door-to-door visits.
Health officials stated that the primary goal of this campaign is to reduce cholera-related hospitalizations and deaths. Local representatives and volunteers are actively encouraging residents to take the vaccine and raising awareness about hygiene.
